Activity is not the same as accomplishment.
This really hits home for me. I had a CFO tell one time that I was stressed out and he could tell because I was running around taking care of a lot of little task and checking boxes off. He called me into his office and ask me to take a deep breath, slow down and start working on the things that make the biggest impact and the things that used my talents and experience.
Is that one of your struggles? In these very stressful time of uncertainty and bad news all around us we can let the stress impact what we do and even paralyze us into doing nothing or checking off easy, non impactful tasks.
Maybe take a few moments. Take a few deep breathes and maybe say a short prayer and then refocus. Let’s take advantage of these times that may be less hectic and less busy as we spend lots of time inside for a change and try to move things forward. Let’s review our task list and move all the really important things to the top. Let’s take some time to clean our area, organize, file, throw away and work on getting ready for the new future that will be coming our way in the next few weeks or months as this crisis subsides.
Lets start moving our Impactful meter up and get prepared for new opportunities and growth.
