Are We Stuck: 5 Ways to Move People Part 2

Yesterday we touched on step one of moving our people forward:

1. Delegation – the assignment of any authority to another person to carry out specific activities.

Today we will touch on the next 4 steps to help you move your people forward. Let’s get Unstuck!

2. Empowerment – giving people the authority to manage the issue or task with guidelines and clarity. To own it.

3. Trust – I’m confident you can handle this and get it done. I trust you.

4. Serving Your People ( It’s About You) – remove obstacles, confront issues quickly, listen to them, get to know them, provide clarity, be open and available, challenge them

5. Serving Your People (It’s OK) – delegating, empowering, trusting and serving may feel like overwhelming words and maybe even create some feelings of fear of what might happen if I try this. Most owners and managers are feeling exactly the same way. It’s OK!

Do you, your department or company sometimes feel like you are stuck? Try these 5 steps over the next 60-90 days and I know that you will begin to see improvement and change. Do not be discouraged when the first two or three things you try crash and burn. Keep going. Keep trying and you will slowly begin to see the change in you, your people and the organization.
