“Direction, not intention, determines destination!” Andy Stanley
I know it sounds good when someone says “I intend to”, but what I have noticed is good intentions does not get us very far. It almost seems like a lack of commitment or maybe fear. We know it is going to be super tough and we might not make it happen but rather than commit we just slide the decision over and put it under what we hope to do. The good book says “faith without works is dead” so we must put actions with our intentions. Move your intentions, your hopes over to your task list and put it on your calendar and start spending time working on, dreaming about and moving forward from intention, hope and dream to :On My Way!!”
Decide. Yes or no. Commit. Make the hard choice. Go for it. You might be surprised at what happens when you go all in. “Intending to”, gives us plenty of room for an excuse when we fall short. We can remind everyone we never really committed. We hoped to. We might. I intend to. No accountability or ownership. Intentions will never take you where you need to go. Make a decision. Commit. Turn and start walking the path toward where you really want to go. Where you really need to go. Move off your intention into action!! Great sermon by Pastor Michael Shreve! (https://mwchurch.com/)
