“Our capacity to grow determines our capacity to lead” Ken Blanchard and Mark Miller from the book Great Leaders Grow.
I know the current stage of your life may not seem like the right time to be working on yourself, right? Just graduated from college, 3 small kids, 10-12 hour days, not even sure I’m at the right job. Ok, understood but, you can’t get where you want to go and keep yourself on the shelf until things change.
Carve out a few minutes while drinking your coffee. Maybe a book on cd or your iPad or smart phone while driving to work. Maybe 5-10 minutes during your lunch break. What about heading to bed 5-10 minutes earlier and getting some reading or listening in?
Choices Create Change and Your capacity to grow determines your capacity to lead!
Make some new choices to read one book every quarter or listen to one pod cast a week. As you grow you will be amazed at new opportunities that may come your way. The old saying is “Knowledge is Power” and there is some truth to “The more you know, the more you’re worth” so start adding some new knowledge to your bucket every chance you get. It will increase your capacity to be a better leader.
