Change What You Believe

When you change what you believe you change what you do.

I think sometimes we let the events of the past define our future. We take the painful, challenging, catastrophic or terrible events and allow them to be projected on our future. This slow slide toward cynicism will cripple our growth and hamper our future. We allow the voice in our head to remind us of just how bad it was and then that same voice ( our voice) tries to influence us to run from that feeling. We decide the pain is too much. The results were too bad, but what we don’t realize is that that one event does not mean that something similar will end the same way.  Being bound by our past is crippling.

I’m not suggesting that an abusive or illegal circumstance be allowed to be repeated but I am suggesting that just because something happened one time that it will automatically happen every time. If you will take a chance. Have a little faith. Maybe give someone a chance. Maybe give that circumstance a chance. Slowly start to turn that belief of fear and doubt into hope and new beginnings, you might change your future and impact.

Try not to allow the events of your past to continue to hold you prisoner in your current reality or your future journey. Take that voice that keeps reminding you of the past pain and tell it to take a day off. Take a chill pill. Tell that voice that you are going to try it. I’m going to take one small baby step of faith and see what happens.

You can do it! Start believing in new beginnings. New opportunities. New relationships. You got this!

When you change what you believe you change what you do.
