It’s the diligent farmer who gets the produce.
As we discussed in yesterday’s blog (https://www.choiceconsultingman.com/diligence-phase-one-prep-work/) it is the prep work that creates the opportunity for a bumper crop. For stellar results. If you have taken the time to prep the soil. Prep your team. Identify our goals. Communicate the WHY! Create Clarity (https://www.choiceconsultingman.com/books/) for everyone on the team. Adjusting or creating systems and processes that can help us get the results we want, then it is time to plant the seeds.
As we stated yesterday; You reap what you sow! You reap ONLY what you sow! You DO NOT reap what you do not sow! Making sure we are planting the right seeds is the only way we can produce the right results. If you want to increase your gross margin by 5%, then you must know what your gross margin is today. You also need to understand your sales price, your costs and what adjustments you need to make to begin to increase that gross margin. You will need to track weekly, what results you are getting. Over the next few months you will need to debrief every transaction to understand what is happening and adjust as needed. What will NOT work is calling the team in and telling them they will increase margins by 5% so you guys better make sure what you sell going forward is 5% higher in gross margin.
What if the market for your product is down? What if what you are currently charging is at the top of your competitors? What if your production process is sloppy and wasteful and costing us way too much to produce? Dictating and demanding is not planting.
You reap what you sow! You reap ONLY what you sow! You DO NOT reap what you do not sow! What seeds are you planting? Teamwork. Appreciation. Inspiration. Clarity. Measuring and tracking results. Empowering the team to maximize their impact? Ownership. Accountability. Communication. Urgency. If these are not seeds you are currently planting, then don’t expect great teamwork. Don’t expect ownership and urgency. Don’t expect creativity and going the extra mile. Don’t get frustrated that you are not getting the results you want.
What do we do? Starting this week, let’s start digging up the weeds. Let’s start digging up the old seeds. Let’s begin prepping the soil and getting ready. Prepping our team, our culture, our partners, our systems, our processes. Let’s get brand new seeds and begin planting our new future. Teamwork. Appreciation. Inspiration. Clarity. Measuring. Ownership. Accountability. Communication. Urgency. Our new reality. Our new impact and culture. You got this! Let’s make 2023 your best year ever!!
