There are a few things we need to do over the next few weeks to make sure we set ourselves set up for the best year we have ever had.
- Schedule 2 hours in the next 2 weeks to review 2023. Bring in your leadership team to help review. How were sales? What was our revenue? What were our profits? Gross profit? Profit margin %? Net profit? Net profit margin %. What was your overhead last year? Overhead %. How many contracts did you write? How many deposits did you take? How was cash flow? How much cash do we currently have in the bank? What does your P&L look like? How did you do with budgets vs. actual costs? What were 5 things that really worked well in 2023? What were the 5 things that did not work they we need to address, correct, and improve in 2024? How was your customer satisfaction? How was your employee satisfaction? How was your vendor satisfaction? How did all your results match up to the goals you set for 2023??
- Schedule 2 hours and create your 2024 Vision Tracker. (See Traction/ EOS process) Bring in your leadership team to help create. Do we have and use our Core Values? Do we have a vision of where we want to go and what we want to accomplish? Do we have a mission of the impact we want to make in our world through our company? What is our NICHE that separates us from our competitors. We are better! What is our Marketing Strategy for 2024? Who is our target client? What are three things that make us unique in our market? Do we have a written Proven Process? A written process for our customer and company of what happens from the first day we meet our customer and their experience and our service with every transaction.
- Schedule 2 hours to review where we are going and what we want to achieve. Bring in your leadership team to help create. Where do we want to be as a company in 2034 or 2029? Specific and measurable. What is the picture of 2026. Where do we want to be in 3 years and what does that look like? Revenue, profit, sales, office space, staffing, software, purchasing, design, Integrator/ Operations, Inside sales, Sales/ Marketing Management, HR training program, margins, new business, retirement, etc.
- Schedule 2 hours to set our goals for 2024. Bring in your leadership team to help create. Specific and measurable. Sales, revenue, profits, margins, deal closings, new business, marketing, staffing, training, hiring, meetings, 90-day rocks/ tasks. Based on your goals for 2024, what are some things you and your team need to make sure we get done in the next 90 days, by March 31? Create a plan, create detailed budgets, start Purchase Orders, hire staff, train staff, purchase software and start implementation, etc.
- Lastly, identify your top 10 biggest issues in your company. Bring in your leadership team to help IDS. (Identify Issue. Discuss cause. Offer and implement Solutions) Create a weekly meeting or biweekly meetings to IDS. Identify the issues, discuss what is causing the issue. What are possible solutions to solve the issue. Who will handle the implementation of the solutions and by when.
You got this. Once your desired future is written down, it starts to become real. Insanity says we will do the same things as we did in 2023 but get better results in 2024. Let’s move away from insanity to written goals and planning. Let’s begin to move toward the desired outcomes we want to achieve!!
