Getting the opportunity to work with companies and company owners all across the nation, it has become apparent to me that in most situations, we default back to “what we have always done.” The challenge with “what we have always done” is it may not be producing the best results. I often hear that what we are experiencing is basically what everyone else is experiencing so it is ok. So we will just stick to what we do and when things change, our results will change.
I have heard it said that we should not copy the behavior and customs of this world but be changed. It may be time for a change. The news may not be great. Inflation may not be great. Quality leads may be declining. So what are we going to do? It may be scary but maybe it’s time to try something different.
Let’s look at our numbers. Let’s start gathering some new data. Maybe start to look more closely at what everyone on the team is doing and the results of what each person is having. It may be time to change the process. It may be time for a fresh look. It may be time to refocus on what we are trying to achieve. What is the impact and results we are trying to achieve? You reap what you sow. What are the results of our current systems, processes and people?
So let’s do this. Let’s turn down the loud voices of what cannot happen in this market. Let’s not look at what we cannot do but let’s begin to look at what we can achieve. Let’s start planting new seeds and produce a new and better harvest. We don’t have to follow what the market is saying. We can work our way to the top and take our share. Let everyone else fight over what is left!!
