We struggle with joy because we dress rehearse tragedy!
Great line from Pastor Michael this past Sunday. It is interesting how our thoughts impact what we feel and even impacts what happens around us. They say that over 90% of what we worry about never happens. Our focus and thoughts impact our every day life.
It really frustrates me when I hear someone make a statement like, “I know you probably will not be interested but let me ask” or “ I know this probably won’t work but”. Our negative perspective impacts the opportunities before those opportunities even have a chance. How can we change this process?
Here are a few suggestions as we wrap up 2018 and head into 2019. 2019 is a completely blank page that we get to write on so let’s begin to write amazing things!
- try to focus on the good that might happen
- start thinking on the positive
- start writing down the results you want or write down the great things that might happen
- push yourself to have “Glass Half Full” thoughts more often
- begin to move away from the negative people in your life and look for more positive relationships
Let’s look back at 2018 and debrief the things that happened, learn from them and then begin to change 2019 as we pursue what could happen. It just may be the greatest year of your life so far!
We struggle with joy because we dress rehearse for tragedy!

Great post Bobby. Just to clarify – the quote came from Dr. Brene Brown – she is to be credited.
