Action without thought = Reaction
Action with thought creates Response. Matt Hanish
Heard a great statement last week. Action without thought = Reaction. Wow, have I been guilty of that statement. A lot of times I’m so focused on getting things done and making things happen that I often start before thinking. Ever wished you had taken a few more minutes to think, pray, ponder or maybe even bounce the idea off another person? I have totally had to ask forgiveness for moving forward too quickly and then messing things up. But there is hope,
Action with thought creates Response. I’m learning to take a breath. Take a moment. Maybe wait to send the email. Maybe wait until tomorrow to send the presentation. Let me think things over for a little while longer. Usually, for me, that breath or brief time of waiting has created much better results. So, what does that mean for you?
Let’s start trying the thinking part instead of the reaction part. This week, take a deep long breath before moving forward. Maybe save the quote or response for tomorrow and simmer on what you are sending. Maybe ask someone you trust for their thoughts. You got this! Go crush your responses this week!! (PS. Don’t get caught in the trap of waiting. It should just be a pause and then push forward.)
