I’m working on a class for the IBS (International Builder Show) called Are You Stuck? 5 Ways to Move People Forward. We tried to design a catchy title so maybe more people will want to attend but is really about leadership.
John Maxwell reminds us that “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” So basically the class is going to be about leadership. What we have found in most organizations is that the struggles are caused by leadership challenges.
The two areas we will focus on are Building Your People and Serving Your People. The first area we address is Delegating.
Delegating – the assignment of any authority to another person to carry out specific activities. So how are you doing with delegating? Have you given a clear assignment and have you given the person the authority and resources to own and accomplish the task? Maybe take a few minutes today to look at what you do and your team and maybe try to delegate some of your workload to them.
