Comparison
It’s not about being like anyone else or like any other organization. Comparison changes your focus, and your focus determines your direction.
Heard a great sermon yesterday on Comparison. (mwchurch.com) I know for me it can be a real challenge to not look around and start comparing who I am and what I do to people and organizations around me. I think in this current place in history it is even harder than ever to not compare. With all of us watching social media everyday, it is very easy to start comparing me and my situations to the people I see on Facebook or Instagram. So, what do we do?
Comparison changes your focus, and your focus determines your direction.
We need to remember to keep our focus on what we need to be doing. We need to focus on where we are trying to go. We need to focus on maximizing our gifts, passions and influence and making the biggest impact we can through our sphere of influence and where we find ourselves. There is only one of us in the world and we are unbelievably and amazingly unique so let’s leverage that uniqueness. We get caught listening to that negative voice in our head that tells us we should be like that. We deserve that as well. If they can, then I should. Let’s STOP!
It’s not about being like anyone else or like any other organization! It’s about us – being us! It’s about taking our experiences, our upbringing, our failures, our victories, our struggles to the table everyday and using those to make a unique impact on the world.
You got this! Let’s take the next 30 days and turn off those images and those voices and focus on us and how we can make the biggest impact in every situation every day!!
