Doubt

“Doubt begins to let the hope leak out”. Michael Shreve

Have you ever been excited about something only to have someone tell you, “don’t get your hopes up this will probably never work”? Those few words just poked a very tiny hole in the exciting new possibility you were hoping for. How do we guard ourselves against the people that carry around pins poking holes in our hopes and dream.

1. Begin to change the types of people you hang around and that you listen to. Look for more people who are “Glass half full” type of people. People that support and encourage you.

2. Continue to work on how you think. Instead of “what if this doesn’t work out”, replace that thought and statement with “but what if this does work out”.

3. Continue to study, plan and get ready for this new reality you are hoping for.

4. When what you are hoping for gets a small doubt hole in it and you begin to agree that this will probably not happen, grab some “but it might” and plug that hole.

I understand that everything we hope for will never happen and some things we are hoping for are not the right things for us at this moment but don’t give up, don’t allow this doubt pin to let all the air out of your hope before you even have time to walk it out. To give things a chance.

Have a little faith!
