Habit vs Character

Habit is the daily battleground of character. David Allen

Wow! Interesting perspective.

For me this statement forces me to look at my task list and my calendar and the things I find myself doing everyday and evaluate the value they bring to the journey. Sometimes we get stuck in the rut of doing things out of habit or because it’s comfortable and easy but I think we should really begin to move toward impact and value.

Allowing the sameness and redundancy of some of our day-to-day activities begins to push us toward the edge of unimportant and nonproductive and lower value which may begin to influence the outcome of our character. Do what we say, what we do, what our calendar reflects on our day-to-day activities match with who we say we are, what we stand for and where we are trying to go?

Wow! For me, I think I need to take some time and debrief the last few months to see if I need to begin to make some changes and adjustments to move toward who I say I am and where I want to go and who I want to be. How about you?
