Read a great article by Chris Tiegreen that really challenged me. When we find ourselves in uncomfortable situations, is that a good thing? Could we consider that the impact you make as those around you watch how you act and react to challenges could be used to influence and encourage those around you. Sometimes we all think we need to make sure everyone knows we have it all together. We want to make sure everyone thinks we are in control and we have it figured out. But, what can be even more powerful is the transparency that we do not have it all together and we need those around us to help figure things out. It takes a tribe. One is never a big enough number for maximum impact.
This vulnerable dependency on others can create great synergy and team work. Sometimes these uncomfortable and difficult situations are there to help us grow. To push us to new places, new realities, maybe even new opportunities that we could not see in the comfort of everything going well. Maybe, if we open our eyes, ears and hearts we might even begin to change and grow and to understand that this uncomfortable/ challenging situation is preparing us for something new. Something bigger. Something outside of our realm of what we have always been use to or comfortable with.
Let’s take on that challenge of inviting others into our journey to share the load and help unpack the challenges, next steps, possible solutions and let’s not be afraid to look outside the old box. Everyday is contributing to your next day. No days, no situations or challenges should be wasted. We are all on a journey to be better, to make a bigger impact in our family, department or organization. Let’s take on 2022 with a new desire and focus to examine our uncomfortable situations, learn from them and grow from them.
You got this!!
