It’s not insurmountable

The Lord told Gideon, “With these 300 men and I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites. Send all the others home.” Judges 7:7

Great thoughts from my devotion from Tony Dungy.

Remember this: He is there – right by your side. If He is able to secure a victory for Gideon over the Midianites with only 300 men, He can help you with the insurmountable things you are facing.

The Midianites had 32,000 men in their army. There seemed to be no chance of Gideon and his situation surviving let alone having any victory. Wow does this sound familiar today if you are listening to the news or watching the TV. The virus seems to have all the numbers and all the power. The news sounds catastrophic with no hope but hold on. The good book says He has not given us a spirit of fear. The good book says fear not, I have overcome the world. Let’s begin a paradigm shift from fear to hope and a future. The virus is not in control, He is. Let’s lean in, get close, maybe pray a little more and sing a little more and begin to root out the fear.

Great sermon online yesterday at Mountain West Church. (Mwchurch.com) Let’s try moving our focus away from us and fear and move toward the attitude of helping. How can I help the people that are being impacted by this tragedy. How can I help push out fear as I move toward spreading the good news of hope and demonstrating that hope with my actions? As the 92 year old man shared on Facebook when he was a little boy back in the Great Depression, “we didn’t look out for just ourselves, we all looked out for each other and that is what brought us through.”
