Non Participating Character: Video game background player, programmed by the game to be in the scene but behind the scene. Just following the programming. No intention. Not making a difference. Uninvolved. Uncommitted.
Have you ever heard of an NPC? Heard a great sermon yesterday (great job Pastor Gary at MWchurch.com) on The Bigger Story. I think we all have specific gifts and talents. I think we all have a contribution to make on this planet, in your sphere of influence, in your family, and in your company. It doesn’t really matter how we got to where we are, it only matters how we act and react in the day-by-day situations we find ourselves in.
Sometimes our situations and challenges really begin to wear us down. We begin to lose hope that things can and will be better. You find yourself becoming an NPC. You show up but are frustrated and tired of fighting the battle, so you just go through the motions. No real passion. No real drive. No real urgency. NPC is a very difficult place to be. BUT, we don’t have to stay there!
It’s time to get back in the game. It is time to set aside some quiet time to think , review, plan and put together a new game plan. How can you get back into the game? How can you take on a part that puts you back in the action, not sitting on the sidelines just watching? You can do this!
Let’s take this next week to spend some time thinking, planning, refocusing and coming up with a new game plan. Find some people you trust and and spend some time sharing your struggles but also your new plans to change. Then, go for it! Take your NPC outfit and hat off and put on your “I’m in the game and you better watch out for me” outfit and hat on! Let’s get in the game and start making an impact today! You can do this!!
