“Often the search for the answer is just as valuable as the answer itself”. Great line from Great Leaders Grow by Blanchard and Miller.
I recently had a conversation with a young man who was thinking about starting a new company. We talked about his vision for the type of business and what his next step might be. My coaching was go find a business plan template and begin answering all the questions. The journey of having to go research, investigate, and find all the unanswered questions would begin to equip him to fully understand the business and would help him be better prepared when he went in front of an investor to ask for funding.
I’m pretty sure that in my early days I did not notice what the search for answers were doing for me and my life journey but now that I’m older(some might say old – 😂) I seem to be more aware of things I should be learning. There were attitudes I needed to change, habits I needed to start(or stop), talents I needed to sharpen, people I needed to meet, tough situations that helped sand off some of my rough personal edges.
Lets face it, this life journey is about becoming the best ME I can become and to leave this place better than I found it. To maybe be a breath of fresh air or a quick word of encouragement to someone along my daily journey.
Don’t discount the journey looking for the answer because “Often the search for the answer is just as valuable as the answer itself”!
