I don’t know about you but I find myself trying to figure out what is going to happen. When will this hard work payoff? When will I finally get where I want to be. Have you ever found yourself looking down the road and being in a hurry and maybe impatient and frustrated? I read a story last night about the journey and impact of the middle. As I have gotten older, I have started to realize that some of the results that I am hoping for are happening right in the middle of my journey.
Part of the results and outcome I am looking for are happening to me and through me in the middle of my journey. There are things I need to learn to get me ready for the results. There are people I need to meet and relationships I need to start before I experience the great results and blessings. What I usually do not realize is a good portion of the journey, frustrations, and delays are helping me and equipping me to be ready for the results! Wow! I need to learn to persevere in the middle of the journey because it is usually what I need to help me get ready for the results.
So, let’s not move too fast to the awesome results and not experience, intentionally, the journey of the middle. It is usually the place we grow the most if we are not to impatient or frustrated. Let’s not try to move quickly past the middle and force results we are not ready to receive.
We need the middle! We need the getting ready phase. You got this! Take a deep breath and look around at your challenges. What should you be learning? Who should you be meeting? What should you be reading? Maximize the middle and maximize the impact of the great results!
