It’s not what happens to you but what happens in you. John Maxwell
Great thought I heard this week on my Minute with Maxwell podcast. It reminded me that I don’t always have a lot of control over what happens to me but I do have complete control over how I respond to what happens to me. I have the opportunity to share a session with an organization on Tuesday on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey and in one of the sections we will be unpacking the thought of the Mature journey.
The Mature journey speaks to the choices we make with the things given to us or the things that happen to us. People that strive to make the biggest impact they can and help people along the way understand the power of ownership, accountability and response.
Our journey should be one of learning and growing. What can I learn from this situation? What can I take away from this challenge that will help me in the future? What can I improve? What do I need to change in me to help me create the better response in the future?
