Learning from our past, frustrated by our past or uncertain about the future or having great plans for the future are all unimportant if the journey inside of us is not on the right track. The good book says ” what if a man gains the whole world but loses his soul.” Where you’ve been or where you are going is not near as important as who you are becoming.
If you get to the end of this journey called life and you did some cool things, had some really good stuff and made lots of money but did not impact people for good, encourage someone along the way or help pull someone up that was struggling then you really missed what you were put on earth to do.
We should focus on the 90% good not just the 10% bad. We should catch people doing things well and cheer them on. We should give that person behind the counter a big smile and wish them a great day, we should leave a $10 tip for a $5 purchase and make someone’s day.
We are called to be light and salt and a breath of fresh air in a world that has enough pollution already. So, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us!”
